- Pre-heat the oven at 180 °
- Line your approximately 33 x 23 cm brownie pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- Melt the butter and chocolate together in a pan over a bain marie.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla.
- Measure the flour into another bowl and add the salt.
- Once the chocolate mixture is melted, let it cool a bit before whisking in the eggs and sugar mixture, then the walnuts (if using) and flour.
- Whisk to combine, then pour into the lined brownie pan.
- Bake for about 25 minutes
- When done, the top should be dry to a paler brown spot, but the middle still dark, dense, and sticky.
