- Karo crystal syrup1 cup
- water1/2 cup
- from beetroot juice or (4 drops of red aniline)1 tablespoon
- Choose unblemished, medium-sized apples. Wash them very well and put them in the fridge until they are very cold. In a pan, mix sugar, syrup, water and arolina.
- Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it boils. Then place in a bain-marie over the already boiling water and do not stir anymore.
- Try the stitch every now and then. It will be fine when thrown in cold water to form hard lints.
- Put out the fire and work quickly keeping the pot in the boiling water. Insert the popsicle stick in the apple, in place of the stem and firm it well.
- Dip the apples, one by one, holding the chopstick, into the syrup, roll well to drain the excess and place on a greased surface to cool.
