- 1 cup of sugar160 g
- 1 cup of oil200 ml
- 1 1/2 cup orange juice300 ml
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour350 g
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder14 g
- Sliced oranges to taste
- 1 1/2 cup orange juice300 ml
- 4 tablespoons of sugar60 g
- Place the eggs in a bowl and beat until doubled in volume.
- Add the sugar, 1 1/2 cups of orange juice, the oil, the wheat flour and beat until you get a smooth and homogeneous mass.
- Add the baking powder and mix gently.
- Grease a rectangular shape with butter or margarine, sprinkle with sugar, arrange the orange slices and pour the dough on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 45 minutes.
- For the syrup, in a pan put 1 1/2 cup of orange juice, 4 tablespoons of sugar and bring to the fire, stirring constantly until it boils.
- Remove the cake from the oven, pierce the entire cake with a toothpick, pour the syrup while still hot and let it rest for 30 minutes. Unmold the cake and serve.
