- Recipe
- Pears (preferably small)1 kg
- Sugar6 tablespoon
- Red table wine750 ml
- Cinnamon Stick2 unit(s)
- Anise flower3 unit(s)
- Clove from India6 unit(s)
- Water150 ml
- Peel the legs keeping and place in the pan.
- Place the spices in a herbal tea basket or directly in the pan (in which case you will need to strain the syrup before serving).
- Add 4 tablespoons of sugar (I advise you to taste the syrup halfway through the process and add one or two more tablespoons of sugar if necessary).
- Add a bottle of red wine (it doesn't have to be quality wine) and the water.
- Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes or until the pears are cooked and the syrup has reduced to half the initial liquid. The syrup will be ready when it is shiny and a little thicker. If necessary, remove the pears and let the syrup evaporate for another 5 minutes to obtain the expected thickness and shine.
- Allow to cool and serve with vanilla ice cream.
