  • Pumpkin, peeled and seeded, cut into small cubes2 kg
  • Refined sugar1 kg
  • Cloves4 unit(s)
  • Cinnamon Dad2 unit(s)
  • Quicklime1 tablespoon
  1. In a bowl place the already chopped pumpkin.
  2. Add water leaving the basin almost full and the pumpkin completely covered.
  3. Add lime and mix well! Let it rest for 4 hours.
  4. After this time, in a large pan, place the sugar, melt it until it forms a caramel, do not let it pass, otherwise it will become bitter.
  5. Remove from heat carefully, add water, cinnamon, cloves. Let it boil until you get a thin syrup.
  6. Drain the pumpkin and wash in running water until you are sure that all the lime has been removed.
  7. Put the pumpkin to cook in the syrup. Let it boil until the syrup is thicker.
  8. Let cool, and transfer to a refractory, or glass!
  9. This recipe makes the pumpkin crust crispy and soft inside! You will love it!
  10. Serve ice cream!
