- Recipe
- Pumpkin, peeled and seeded, cut into small cubes2 kg
- Refined sugar1 kg
- Cloves4 unit(s)
- Cinnamon Dad2 unit(s)
- Quicklime1 tablespoon
- In a bowl place the already chopped pumpkin.
- Add water leaving the basin almost full and the pumpkin completely covered.
- Add lime and mix well! Let it rest for 4 hours.
- After this time, in a large pan, place the sugar, melt it until it forms a caramel, do not let it pass, otherwise it will become bitter.
- Remove from heat carefully, add water, cinnamon, cloves. Let it boil until you get a thin syrup.
- Drain the pumpkin and wash in running water until you are sure that all the lime has been removed.
- Put the pumpkin to cook in the syrup. Let it boil until the syrup is thicker.
- Let cool, and transfer to a refractory, or glass!
- This recipe makes the pumpkin crust crispy and soft inside! You will love it!
- Serve ice cream!
