- First you need to cook white beans (most used in Marenense cuisine), and when you're ready an important tip don't let the beans get too soft, their point is a little hard, right? , and everything ok! pour the white beans into the pan.
- Add salt with garlic (chopped), black pepper, coloring, peppers, parsley, tomatoes, onions and finish with water and babassu coconut oil.
- Place the white bean pan with all the spices on a high heat.
- When it's boiling, put the rice and stir very slowly to mix all the seasonings in the rice.
- Let the water dry and then cover the pan so that the rice can dry (an expression used in Maranhão for the rice to be ready).
- The dry rice, serve as you wish (meat, chicken or salad).
