- Wheat Flour500 g
- Warm filtered water250 ml
- Corn or sunflower or soybean oil50 ml
- Regular or demerara sugar30 g
- Biological Yeast15 g
- Salt10 g
- Ground beef250 g
- Chopped Onion1/2 unit(s)
- Chopped Tomato1 unit(s)
- Salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
- Syrian Spice to taste
- Cornmeal to taste
- In a large pot or bowl place the flour, sugar and yeast
- Add the warm water, the oil and let it rest for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Clean your countertop and leave it very dry because it's time to knead the dough
- Put flour on the counter
- Place the dough on the counter and add salt to taste.
- Knead the dough until it is firm but soft.
- Make several balls with the dough about the size of an orange.
- Prepare the stuffing for the esfihas by mixing the ground beef, onion and tomato in a bowl.
- Season with salt, ground black pepper and syrian seasoning to taste
- Mix well
- With your hands, shape the dough for the sfihas, leaving the edges higher
- Sprinkle cornmeal over the sfihas
- Put a tablespoon of ground beef filling on each esfiha.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees for about 15 minutes
- Transfer the sfihas to a large baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes.
- The right point is when the dough is golden and the stuffing is well cooked đ
