- Crystal sugar3 cup
- Warm milk240 ml
- Lard120 ml
- Cream120 ml
- Baking powder1 tablespoon
- Ammonium salt2 tablespoon
- More or less wheat flour1 kg
- Nutmeg and vanilla essence to taste
- Icing sugar for the meringue1 cup
- Assorted confetti to taste
- Separate 3 egg whites for the meringue. Mix the ingredients and flour little by little until it is almost firm.
- The dough should stick to your hands. Let it rest for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200 to 250 degrees
- Roll out the dough to a height of approximately 1/2 centimeter. Shape the cookies as desired.
- Bake each batch in the oven while you shape another batch.
- A maximum of 10 minutes per batch.
- Leave to cool on a kitchen towel without sticking to each other.
- For the meringue: heat the egg whites without stopping stirring. At the point of putting your finger on it and holding on. Bring the mixer to a high speed with the sugar.
- Beat for about 10 to 15 minutes
- Cover the cookies and sprinkle confetti on top
- Leave to dry for approximately 12 hours on a dry day.
- If it's a humid day and it doesn't dry out during that period, put it in the oven at a very low temperature for about 5 minutes.
