- In a pan, add the potatoes, enough milk to cover them and a clove of garlic.
- After starting to boil, stir the potatoes from time to time as they may stick to the bottom or spill the milk. Prick the potatoes with a fork or break them with a spoon to check if they've cooked well.
- Once cooked, turn off the heat and mash the potatoes together with the milk that remains in the pan, the garlic is completely dissolved at this point.
- Add salt to taste, sour cream and butter or margarine.
