- Recipe
- Wheat for kibbeh500 g
- liter boiling water1 l
- Ground beef500 g
- Large onion, finely chopped1 unit(s)
- Garlic cloves, finely chopped4 unit(s)
- Finely chopped mint sprigs2 to taste
- Syrian pepper2 coffee spoon
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying to taste
- soaking the wheat in 1 liter of boiling water. Set aside for 2 hours to hydrate well and absorb all the water.
- After that time, add the remaining ingredients: ground beef, onion, garlic, mint, pepper and salt. Mix well until you get a consistent dough with the ingredients well distributed.
- What to do to keep the kibbeh from falling apart when frying? Knead the mixture with your hands for 10-15 minutes, so it will be smoother and more compact. You can also mash it in the food processor - in this case add the mint only after grinding, so it doesn't oxidize.
- Shape the kibbeh into its original shape (elongated and with skewered ends) and fry in hot oil until golden on all sides. Remove to absorbent paper and serve your Arabic fried kibe when it cools down. Simple and delicious. Enjoy your food!
