Homemade Butter

Coloque o creme no recipiente da batedeira e comece a bater em velocidade alta. E deixe batendo por alguns bons minutos. Primeiro, o creme vai se tornar um chantilly, e você vai continuar batendo por mais alguns minutos, até se tornar uma manteiga;

Put the cream in the mixer bowl and start beating on high speed. And leave it beating for a good few minutes. First, the cream will become whipped cream, and you will continue beating for a few more minutes, until it becomes butter;

Note que após passado o ponto de chantilly, o creme vai começar a ficar bem amarelado e mais denso: estará pronto quando um líquido se formar e se desprender da manteiga. Não se preocupe que você vai perceber, não tem como errar – veja na segunda foto com fica.

Note that after passing the chantilly point, the cream will start to become very yellow and denser: it will be ready when a liquid forms and detaches from the butter. Don't worry, you'll notice, you can't go wrong – see the second photo with it.

Quando isso acontecer, sua manteiga está pronta! Retire-a da batedeira e coloque em uma peneira para escorrer o excesso de líquido.  

When that happens, your butter is ready! Remove it from the mixer and place it in a sieve to drain excess liquid.

Bom, sua manteiga está pronta, agora delicie-se com ela. Dá até para criar uns sabores para sua manteiga caseira: Limão (adicione raspas de limão e misture bem), Dendê (uma delícia com biscoitos de polvilho para um aperitivo antes do jantar), Ervas (pique bem as ervas que você tiver em casa e adicione a manteiga).

Well, your butter is ready, now enjoy it. You can even create some flavors for your homemade butter: Lemon (add lemon zest and mix well), Dendê (delightful with manioc flour cookies for an aperitif before dinner), Herbs (finely chop the herbs you have at home and add butter).
