- Canned tomatoes1 unit(s)
- Garlic cloves3 unit(s)
- Olive oil to taste
- Onion1 unit(s)
- Basil to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Chop the garlic and onion, reserve
- In a large pan, heat up about 2 tbsp of olive oil and fry chopped onions until they start to look transparent
- Add the chopped garlic, mix and fry until almost golden
- Add the canned tomatoes and use a masher to mash them into a chunky paste
- Stir and let it fry a bit
- Fill the empty tomato can with water and add to pan
- Add salt and pepper to taste
- Let it simmer in slow heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring from time to time
- When done, add chopped basil, put the lid on and turn off the heat.
- Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
