  • Red Pepper1 unit(s)
  • Water300 ml
  • Basil1 cup
  • Coarse Salt1 tablespoon
  1. Cut the tomatoes in half and remove the green part, placing them in a large pan
  2. Cut the red pepper into strips and mix with the tomato
  3. Add the water
  4. Bring to a boil, reduce to medium heat and cover the pan.
  5. Cook for 30 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes
  6. After this time, stir well
  7. Drain all the water from the pan
  8. Place the tomatoes in the food processor and blend well for at least 3 minutes with coarse salt. Add the basil.
  9. The passata is ready to be used
  10. To preserve, take a strong glass bottle, place two sprigs of basil, fill it with passata, plus 20ml of olive oil.
