- Recipe
- Wheat flour2 cup
- Salt1 coffee spoon
- Butter4 tablespoon
- Warm water1/2 cup
- Stuffing to taste
- In a bowl, place the flour, salt and butter. Mix with your fingertips until it turns into crumbs.
- Add the warm water and mix well until it becomes a smooth dough. Wrap in plastic and leave in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Prepare whatever filling you want. I used braised beef! But you can use cold cuts, hearts of palm, chicken with curd, escarole with ricotta, broccoli...whatever you want or have in the fridge.
- Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a floured bench.
- With the help of a bowl measuring about 10 cm, cut discs and place 2 tablespoons of stuffing on the bottom of the disc, leaving an edge to close the empanada.
- Moisten the edge of the dough with water and close, forming a half moon. Fold the edges to finish. Place the empanadas on a greased and floured tray.
- Brush the empanadas with egg yolk and bake until golden!
