- Demerara sugar1 cup
- Butter1 tablespoon
- Salt1 teaspoon
- Iced milk250 ml
- Baking powder2 tablespoon
- Wheat flour1 kg
- Sour starch (optional)1 tablespoon
- Oil for frying to taste
- Cinnamon to finish to taste
- Beat the eggs well with the sugar and butter. Then mix the milk and salt. Then add the yeast dissolved in a little water.
- Start adding the flour little by little, mixing with a spoon. After mixing 1/2 of the flour, add the sprinkle (optional) and add the other half of the flour again little by little. When you start to feel the dough harder, start kneading with your hands until the point of rolling the cookies.
- Shape the cookies into sticks approximately 1 or 1.5 cm in diameter (they grow a lot after frying). Fry in preheated oil until golden on both sides. (Cold oil will make the cookies soggy and too hot oil will make them uncooked).
- Drain the cookies on paper towels. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste (optional) and serve after cooling.
