- Sliced onion1 kg
- Butter45 g
- Wheat flour28 g
- Hot water2 l
- Mozzarella cheese85 g
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan Cheese45 g
- Italian bread1 unit(s)
- Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of the slices of Italian bread.
- Place the butter side down in a heated pan and let it brown.
- Reserve the toasted breads.
- In a pan, place the butter and onion, leave it on high heat, stirring occasionally, until it turns golden in color.
- If at any time it starts to stick to the bottom of the pan, add a little water (about 1/4 cup).
- When the onion is well golden add the wheat flour and stir well, add the hot water, mix and cover the pan.
- Let it cook for 10 minutes to thicken, open the pan and season with salt and pepper, stir a little and distribute the soup in soup bowls
- Place a slice of toasted bread in the middle, on the sides of the bread place the mozzarella and on top of everything the grated Parmesan.
- Place the cumbucas on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200C until the cheese melts and browns.
